Hi and thanks for having me to talk about my new book The Legend of Michael and the Zodius Series. As I sat down to write this blog I had the television on and ironically there was an interview with a well known, highly respected journalist about her new AREA 51 book.  It was incredibly interesting because it has theories that fit into the creation of my series. You can read the review and see a little interview with the author here: http://www.theufochronicles.com/2011/05/video-new-book-area-51-was-josef-stalin.html

Basically the author says that the Roswell ship thought to be at Area 51 wasn’t a UFO but a Russian ship with genetically altered humans inside. I was so excited about this because the idea behind the Zodius series is that our own government told the soldiers at Area 51 they were being immunization but instead tampered with their DNA.  So how did I come up with this idea?

I have a relative that was part of the cleanup crew for Roswell and though he went to his deathbed with the secrets, just the very fact that he was so secretive created speculation. We didn’t even know he was there until near his death, but then we didn’t know he had a Purple Heart either. He simply didn’t feel the kind of pain he saw to get it was something to talk about he told us near the end.

I love Vegas and have been MANY times so a series that allowed me to use Vegas in the world building, which I do a lot, especially in book 2 THE STORM THAT IS STERLING, that is out in November, was exciting to me.

My ex of 17 years was not only in the Army, but his father and uncles were all Special Forces, so I had a flavor for the military to start writing.

I love a real hero and soldiers truly are heroes!

I hope you will check out The Legend of Michael, The Storm That is Sterling (November 2011) and The Danger That Is Damion(Spring 2012). I have the cover for book two now up on my Facebook account so that is very exciting. You can see it here: http://www.facebook.com/Lisareneejones

I think each book is VERY different and I did that intentionally. I want the series to be fun and exciting, not repetitive and boring. I hope you will think I succeeded!

I am so in love with the concept of this story!! Alien stories attract me anyway but I've never seen this idea in the romance genre. The excerpt truly has me intrigued. Thanks for sharing with us today I can't wait to read the blurbs for the rest of the series.

Hi Lisa,

Your books sounds like great fun. I agree that solders are heroes. Does any of your books take part in Area 51? And, if so, did you make up the setting or did you base it on research?
