Good morning all! We've got Ashlyn Chase visiting us today. I took the opportunity to ask her some 'interview' style questions so we could learn more about her. I hope you find it as interesting as I did. Oh, and Sourcebooks is offering a giveaway of Ashlyn's latest, The Vampire Next Door, to two lucky Star-Crossed Romance readers. Check out the -- Lynda Again section to see how you can win.I've got a review of The Vampire Next Door posted. You can read it here.

Ashlyn Chase Interview
SCR: If you were doomed to spend the rest of your life on an island with only one book, one person, one food (coconuts and fish aside), and one object from the modern world (computer, deodorant, etc.), what would they be?
AC: A Course in Miracles, my husband, chocolate, and a flush toilet.
SCR: What’s the sexiest feature on a man to you? And on a woman? Why?
AC: I love a nice butt—or anyone. Who knows why? I just do.
SCR: What’s your own sexiest feature?
AC: Not my butt, that’s for sure! LOL Maybe my hands. They’re soft and I know how to use them.
SCR: Do you have a favorite character out of all the ones you’ve written? If so, who is it and why is s/he your favorite?
AC: Maybe Randy from Being Randy. He’s irrepressible. He gets in trouble by being his honest self, but you can’t keep him down.
SCR: What would constitute your own personal happily ever after?
AC: Me going before my husband. I dread to think what I’d do without my computer geek, money manager, handyman, and awesome lover.
THE VAMPIRE NEXT DOOR
BY ASHLYN CHASE – IN STORES AUGUST 2011
Room for Rent: Normal need not apply
This old Boston brownstone is not known for quiet living… first the shapeshifter meets his nurse, then the werewolf falls for his sassy lawyer, but now the vampire is looking for love with a witch who’s afraid of the dark… and you thought your neighbors had issues!
Undead Sly is content playing vigilante vampire, keeping the neighborhood safe from human criminals, until Morgaine moves in upstairs. Suddenly he finds himself weak with desire, which isn’t a good place for a vampire to be. And Morgaine isn’t exactly without her own issues—will the two of them be able to get past their deepest fears before their chance at “normal” slips away?

Hi, Ashlyn and Lynda,
I really enjoyed reading this interview. Ashlyn, I sympathize totally. My husband is a tremendous help in my life too and I really wouldn't function well without his support. I always dedicate my novels to him for this reason.
Your novel sound very intriguing.
Best,

Thanks Jacqueline,
I've dedicated a few to him, but I try to vary the dedications. In the vampire next door, I gave him a funny dedication first, then a more serious one to my cousins.
Hi Ladies,
The Vampire Next Door sounds sooo good & so original. My interest is definitely peaked! I can't wait to read it. I also enjoyed your interview. Thanks & have a beautiful day.

Thanks, Teresa!
I've received so much positive feedback (4 1/2 stars from RT magazine and a top pick from Night Owl romance,) I don't think you'll be disappointed.
You're doing a great job of keeping the answers on this tour hilariously original! I'm entertained every time Ashlyn! Good Job. :)
Thanks, Stephanie!
I warn people that if I say something outrageous, not to worry...it might not be true. I'll go for the cheap laugh over the boring truth every time.
I enjoyed the interview; it was great fun.
I loved the first two books in this series and look forward in reading The Vampire Next Door. I know I'm going to love it.
Thanks,

i seriously need to make an effort to read the first one in this series. I've had it forever but dang I can't seem to find the time but it does sound great.
You'll enjoy it more if you start with book one, Pam, so I'm glad you have it. They can stand alone, but my latest review (another 4 1/2 stars that just came through a minute ago) said the reviewer would be getting the other books due to the fun characters.
Hi Ladies,
I loved the interview and the blurb for the book. I hope I win it.
thank you for the chance to get to know you a little bit and for the contest.

I loved the interview, nice to see not everyone takes flush toilets for granted. I've got the first two books on my TBR pile and will try to read them in order.
How many do you plan in the series?

I'm glad you liked what you read, Nay Nay. ALl I hope to do is entertain readers.
Hi Linda,
Have you been to India too? LOL. After your first "squat toilet" you'll never take plumbing for granted again.
This is the third and final in this series. I'm proposing another series jumping off this one.
Great interview Ashlyn, you're always so quirky! Can't wait to read this one!

Thanks, Brenna...I think. LOL
What's funny is that I'm not very quirky when I have to come out from behind the safety of my computer monitor. When asked in interviews what my readers would be surprised to learn about me, I say, 'That I'm normal.'
Hi Ashlyn and Linda -
I love your books Ashlyn. They really make me laugh. I have really enjoyed them. Still waiting to get my hands on The Vampire Next Door. It's going to be great!
