What R U Doing?

I for one am jealous! Many of my writer friends have descended on Columbus for the annual Romantic Times Convention! Facebook is hopping with their furious posts as they talk about getting ready to rush off to panels, meet an old friend, or have fun at the Intergalactic Bar and Grill. And as I post the Faerie Ball!

I've been to several conferences, and always come back tired but ready to write because of all the new ideas and enlightening banter with other writers. I've wanted to attend the RT conference since I was a teenager and first picked up the industry magazine. Inside I found pictures of grand galas and balls, as well as pages of writing workshops and publishing house activities...not to mention the goodies and cute guys. Though I'm a taken woman now, I still wouldn't mind seeing a cover model...call it an obsession with cover art if you must :0)

And since I started following the romance genre, I've continued to see more and more friends succeed with their writing. Before we were the ones rushing off to catch a big name, and now they're the big names...and in some cases hold court with friends who'd rival a King or Queen of Romance.

Since I can't be there I will be living vicariously through the Facebook posts and cross tweets, and will likely try to dig up some pictures or interviews taken on site. (If you find a good link about the convention, share it here!) In the meantime, I'll be rejoicing about a new publishing credit to my name.

I just learned yesterday that my article ENDURE TO DO MORE will be in the May issue of Alamance Woman Magazine! I'm super excited since it combines three things I love--writing, running and family. It talks about why Relay for Life is important to me, and why I want the Endurance Relay Raffle I mentioned a couple weeks ago to do well.

Congrats on the article.

I would love to go to every convention. But until I have written a novel, I'm sticking to just RWA Nationals as finances allow.

One of these days, I'm going to make it to DragonCon. That's the convention I would love to attend.

Ditto that for me too Beth!! We have several members in the Carolina Romance Writers who go every year. Ah...what we could do if the finances allowed :0)
