Good morning all! We're participating with Kathryne Kennedy and Sourcebook's Elven Realm Blog hop today. Don't forget my reviews of these fabulous books!

Dewhame
In the realm of Dewhame, the elven lord Breden rules with his blue scepter of sea and sky. The palace is all rounded edges, with water running down the walls and statues spraying fountains of it within the courtyard. Within the palace, there are ponds with fantastical plants surrounding them, and you might occasionally see a naiad swimming about. The court dresses in gowns of silk and satin and gauze, light fabrics that aren’t weighed down by the humidity. A waterfall shimmers behind the elven lord’s throne, and wisps of vapor swirl through the throngs of courtiers: half-breed elven with pale hair and jewel-like eyes.
Excerpts featuring Dewhame, from the Elven Lords Series by Kathryne Kennedy:
The Land:
The elven lord of Dewhame had changed the land with his magic: springs spouted from meadow and wood, ponds softened any lowland, rivers and streams flowed in a wild profusion across the landscape.
***
The path they rode upon curved away from the ocean again, but they had been steadily climbing and so this time the poplar trees did not block their view, and they had a fine prospect of the land of Dewhame. A wild moor spread out below them, heather blooming in a lavender blanket that rippled in the breeze and made a sort of shushing sound. A river sparkled on the far horizon, small streams flowing from it to weave through the heather like some giant spider web. Fountains of water erupted from several of the streams, glittering in the sunshine and overlaying the land with a sheen of mist.
The city and palace:
His men narrowed their eyes against the glare of the sun’s rays as they rode through the cobbled streets. It always appeared brighter in Bath, indeed, in the entire sovereignty of Dewhame, due to the reflection of the light bouncing off so much water. Small fountains of flowing urns and spouting creatures decorated every doorstep. Larger fountains stood within every square, their spray a loud hiss in the quiet morning, a cold spatter against Dominic’s face. The buildings lining the streets had been painted in muted tones of blues and greens, and they all lacked a single straight line, the walls and roofs rounded like the swell of a wave.
But they could not compare to Dewhame Palace, the home of Imperial Lord Breden. As Dominic and his men approached the looming structure, he marveled again that something so seemingly soft could be so impregnable. The walls surrounding the palace had been crafted to resemble ocean waves, one rolling atop the other to create one large barrier. Elven magic made the waves appear to actually flow, but the palace walls themselves really did move with water. It erupted from the top turrets of the palace to cascade down the ridged walls, a translucent shimmer of color in the morning sunlight.
A flood of water drenched Dominic as they passed through the open gate, and he didn’t get any drier when he reached the waterfall-surrounded courtyard. Water rained down from the palace walls and splattered from the waterfalls and swirled about his horse’s hooves. The general’s wool coat stuck to his shoulders and back and made him itch. He scowled. Wet wool stank.
The dragons:
She had heard the dragons of the six other sovereignties had different powers associated with their elven lords: the black dragon of Firehame could breathe fire; the blue dragon of Dewhame, lightning; the green dragon of Verdanthame could breathe a mist that grew tangled briars and enormous trees. The silver dragon of Bladehame spat molten metal, the brown dragon of Terrahame emitted a roar that cracked the earth, and the violet dragon of Stonehame could turn anything to stone with his breath.
Question for readers to answer to enter the contest:
If you could be a bird or a fish, which would you be (or—do you prefer land or air)?

This sounds like such a great series. I have the first on my TRL.
This is such an awesome tour.
I'd have to say a bird. I could change my scenery anytime I wished and not be stuck in any one place. :)
Thanks for this giveaway opportunity.

I would want to be a bird. I'd want the freedom to fly anywhere and watch the land below. Thank you for the amazing giveaway!

Definitely a bird so I could fly high and free, changing my scenery anytime I wanted. I hope you have a successful blog tour and thanks for the great giveaway opportunities!
I would rather be a bird than a fish because for one thing, I being able to fly is awesome, and another is that I'll be more free to go anywhere I like whereas being a fish will limit me to the ocean.
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

Hi Carol! So great to hear you enjoy the series and the tour!
Hi Diana! I would love to fly as well!
Hi Dana! Thank you so much for the good wishes!
Hi Winnie! I think bird is winning. :}
So glad to be here today, everyone!
I would want to be a bird, the ability to fly everywhere would be pretty amazing. Would be able to move around from place to place.
Thank you for the giveaway.

I think I would want to be a fish and have the ability to swim everywhere. I would love to see what the ocean holds, in a natural light, so to speak.
Mmm, bird or fish? Bird - I use to own a nanday conure and he was my best friend. Plus, alright, I admit my love for Mercedes Lackey's Hawkbrothers influences this answer. I would LOVE to be a bondbird.

Oh, I'm so looking forward to this third book! I would want to be a bird.I remember dreams where I am flying/soaring and it's glorious - just like this series :)
Hi Kathryne,
I LOVE the blurbs about all the different Elven realms and can't wait to get my hands on the Elven Lords Series books. How many do you have planned in the series?
Mindy :)

To answer the question, I think I'd rather be a SMART fish please.
I LOVE the water & have waterscapes & fountains all through my house, porches & backyard.
Mindy :)

Hi Jean! My pleasure. :}
Hi Alyssa! I can only imagine the discoveries still waiting for us in the ocean. Well said.
Hi Raonaid! Love Lackey as well, will have to check out that book!
Hi Catslady! So great to see my readers here today! And thank you for the kind comment.
Hi Mindy! So great to hear! Right now I have the three, although I left it open to write more...but I feel another world calling...:}
Whoops. Hi Lisa, must have posted at same time. My son LOVES penguins too. I put a were-penguin in one of my Relics of Merlin books. :}
I would be a bird. Birds eat fish don't they ;). I like land but I also love to fly.
This series looks great. Thank you.

I'd have to pick a bird. They always look like they're having so much fun.

This looks like such a beautiful series! I can't wait to read it:) I would definitely be a bird because I'm not really a water person!
jwitt33 at live dot com
I would want to be a bird, a kiwi in fact. They are a wee flightless bird but they are held in very high esteem by the people of New Zealand, so then I would also be held in high esteem.
Please enter me in the contest

As much as I love to swim I've always wanted to be able to fly so I am going to say a bird.
scrtsbpal at yahoo.com
I would be a red tailed hawk. (can you tell I have thought of this before?) I have always loved to watch them fly, so graceful and proud. And the soft sound of wind being brushed by hundreds of feathers, such a soothing sound.
I like how Dewhame's magic has changed the land, it sounds breath taking! I can't wait to immerse myself in this world and see it through your writing!
eyesofblueice (at) gmail (dot) com
Hi Victoria! LOL, yes, they often eat fish.
Hi Carol! So true!
Hi Julie! So great to hear, thanks so much!
Hi Heather! What a unique bird to wish for. Love it!
Hi Pamk: The bird seems to be the consensus here. I'm wondering where all the mermaids are. ;}
Hi Lexi! Wonderful that you've thought of this before. You should absolutely enjoy the series. :}
Thanks a million for having me here today, Lynda! I've had a great time! Hope to see many of you at my next stop tomorrow~Hugs, Kathryne
I would prefer to be a bird so I can travel around.
I enjoyed the excerpt. Thanks for the giveaway.

Definitely a bird. I've even been told I tilt my head to the side like a bird when listening to someone. I've also rescued two darling starlings 3 days old burning on hot cement. Their sibling was already dead. Then I let them go because they wanted to be free, to live "beyond the gilded cage."
Thanks for the contest. You have some fantastic prizes; your series looks wonderful.
First ... I love that the dragons all have different gifts! That's incredibly unique.
Bird or fish? Probably bird -- you're far less limited on where you can go, but I'm afraid of heights, so would have to get over that (unless I'm a penguin and have the best of both worlds).
Thanks for the tour!
I don't have a blog or website, but can be reached here: mnark111 AT gmail DOT com
I would chose a bird. I like the idea of being able to fly away from predators and having the ability to have aerial view of my surroundings.
Thanks,

If you could be a bird or a fish, which would you be? I would be a bird. I have always dreamed I could fly like a bird. To be graceful and soar above rooftops would be cool.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I would be a bird... I much prefer the air since I definitely can't swim. Besides, in the air I get the best views:)
The Elven Lords Series sounds like some really great reading! I've not read too many elven books, so I'm putting these on my wishlist.

I would choose to be a bird. That way I can see the world from above :)
Cambonified(at)yahoo(dot)com
In true sci-fi/fantasy fashion, I would want to be a shape-shifter that could transform from a bird into a fish (possibly a narwhal, because they are just awesome). I love both swimming and flying (well, in a plane) but I would probably spend most of my time as a bird. I've always wanted to fly through a cloud. ^_^

I would be a bird for sure, I would like to be a Phoenix. :-) Congrats on the releases!
I would love to be bird, flying free and also enjoying the land in my nest and seeking food.
I would love to win LORD OF ILLUSIONS most of all and complete the terrific trilogy.
Thanks so much.

Hi! Hope your having fun on your tour! ;)
If i could be either, it would be a bird. The thought of flying, the wind in my feathers, being able to pick up and move, go anywhere. Tour the world... It sounds like paradise to me! Birds are so carefree! There beautiful, different, colorful and wild! Id love to be one. Im just not sure which bird id like to be. ;D It would be awesome exploring the rain forest. ;) Thanks!

I would be a fish because I love to swim. These books look awesome. Thanks for the chance to win.

If I could choose, I think I'd have to be a bird. There are so many amazing places in the world I'd love to travel to, without the inhibiton of things tying me down to earth. The freedom appeals to me :) Thanks for the opportunity!

If I could choose a fish... I would cheat and become a mermaid or selkie so I could be in the water and be on land when I wanted.

I would be a fish. I absolutely love the water.
lag110 at mchsi dot com
I would definitly be a fish, I think i was born a fish anyway, plus I'm Pisces, so it fits. I love the water and spend all summer swimming in Lake Michigan. Sometimes I wish I was a Mermaid, cause I would love to live in the water forever!
Disturbed_Godsmack_Chick@Yahoo.com
I'd like to be a mermaid, she's a type of fish right? I think it would be fun to be able to swim under the water for a very long time. And I would be able to talk to all the other creatures of ocean. I'd have my own cavern to live in.
luvfuzzzeeefaces at yahoo dot com
I'd love to be a bird, but I have a fear ofheights. So I'll be a fish which live in beautiful habitats. I just worry about the breathing part
